San Diego, Sharks, and Sticks
This week went by slow, again, because Astronomy is sooo long. We had a midterm on Thursday, and even the smartest people in the class were mad at the professor. I probably got a good grade (I studied harder than I usually do for a test), but it was still tough. Everything else was pretty typical. Watching Fringe, hanging out with people, doing HW, etc. Saturday was fun because a bunch of us went to Derek, Austyn, Chris, and Luke’s swim meet. They did pretty good and it was a pretty nice day.
The fun really began on Sunday night. After getting locked out of my room for 3 hours in the morning, we had dinner with Austyn, Mat, Nicole, and a few other people. Austyn told us that he was going home to do yard work and jokingly invited us to help. Well, we took him up on that offer. An hour later six of us (Austyn, Mat, Ben, Lexi, Nicole, and I) were headed out to his place in San Diego. Austyn and I drove together, trying to lose the other car the entire way. We stopped on a pier and saw a baby shark get caught and killed! It was crazy seeing them haul it up the pier and then stabbed.
Afterwards we went to Austyn’s, watched some TV, and went to sleep. The next day his parents made us breakfast and the guys did yard work while the girls went and visited friends. Most of the stuff we did was binding sticks, mowing the lawn, and weed whacking. It took a few hours, including a lunch break (thanks to the L’s) and it was HOT! We finished and got dinner at BJ’s ($25 for six people, that’s good), and then headed back home.
It as a crazy trip, and this is barely describing it.
